Mentoring
In an individual mentoring, we come to your workplace to personally guide an employee and their supervisor. This often happens because when a manager simultaneously sees potential in the employee and encounters challenges that they don’t quite know how to handle. Sometimes there are escalating conflicts, or we are starting to see a form of absenteeism.
Neurodiversity is an enrichment, but it can also be a challenge for collaboration. That’s why at Mindflow we developed a unique individual program where we work together to turn the tide. In our individual mentoring, we offer a sounding board for both employee and manager, we hold up a mirror and look for solutions.
Our mentoring engagements are always honest, focused, and brief. At Mindflow, we have developed an efficient onboarding that allows us to achieve maximum results with minimal time investment from all parties. Of course, we can further customize this with additional conversations, workshops, or personal guidance.
For your Employee
Has someone on your team recently or long ago received a diagnosis such as autism, ADHD,…? Do you have the impression of reaching someone’s limits because they are gifted or highly sensitive? Does it seem like an employee often understands things differently than how you meant them? Are you struggling to support that one colleague in the right way?
Neurodiversity within your team can lead to conflicts in various ways, and that can be burdensome. For you as a manager, for your team, but certainly also for the individual(s) concerned.
During our mentoring, we explore together with the employee not only their pitfalls, but also what qualities are hidden behind them and what is needed to use them as strengths. In this way, we not only analyze the problem, but we also show opportunities.
For sustainable change, we work on two tracks during this personal guidance: with the employee, but also with you as a manager. Together, you can take big steps that create added value for everyone.
For Yourself
Of course, it’s also perfectly possible that you, as a neurodivergent leader, are reaching your limits. That you increasingly notice that you perceive things slightly differently than your employees or colleagues and that you see different patterns or opportunities.
This can also be very challenging if the work culture or company structure is not sufficiently focused on neuroinclusion. As a manager, do you need a sounding board? Would you like to confidentially check concrete situations with someone who has been in your shoes? Do you want to know how best to approach much-needed change? Then a mentoring program at Mindflow is the perfect solution.
Neurodivergent leaders are often masters at hiding their doubts and concerns. But sooner or later, this always takes its toll. Don’t wait until it’s too late and feel free to contact us so we can explore together whether Mindflow can help you with new insights to take better care of yourself and your team.
What Does a Mentoring Engagement Entail?
The short answer is that we fully adapt the program to what you need, both in terms of content and form as well as timing.
You Can Read the Longer Answer Here.
A program always starts with a non-committal introduction between us, client and mentor. Obvious, right? Everyone has their own story. During that first conversation, we get to know each other, and together we assess what you need, and what we can offer you. Maybe we decide afterwards that we won’t continue together, and that’s completely okay – at least we will have broadened our view of the world a bit.
If we decide to continue working together, we make an appointment for an intake where the manager and/or HRBP also join. In this, we make agreements about the objectives and the course of the program. After that, we plan about three one-on-one conversations. Their content depends on the intake conversation, but is usually a combination of
-
- situating your experiences: what happens, how does it happen, what are possible consequences
- coaching: questions and exercises to gain self-insight – something about self-knowledge being the source of all wisdom…
- strategy training: learning to deal differently with situations where problems often arise in a safe context
- mentoring: together we look for concrete solutions that can work in this specific context.
Sometimes it’s useful to invite the manager to one of these conversations to discuss adjustments in the collaboration, or to talk about strengths that can be leveraged and pitfalls that can be avoided. In a
The program can take place both online and offline, and hybrid forms are also possible. A walk to start, work sessions via video conferencing, and an appointment at the office for the final conversation? Perfectly fine!
